sempre-audio.at presents – Blues on the Adriatic 2025 at Hotel Miramar Opatija
Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore, Siggi Fassl and Hans Theessink - such is the high calibre of the second edition of the Blues on the Adriatic 2025 festival, which sempre-audio.at is once again organising at the Hotel Miramar in Opatija from 19 to 21 June 2025.
- We will be welcoming top-class musicians when sempre-audio.at hosts the Blues on the Adriatic 2025 festival at the Hotel Miramar Opatija in June 2025.
Back in December 2023, sempre-audio.at was invited to a very special sound journey to Croatia. Blues on the Adriatic 2023 was on the programme at one of the finest hotels in the country, the Hotel Miramar Opatija. Beautifully situated in the Kvarner Bay, the hotel was the perfect backdrop for Blues on the Adriatic 2023. sempre-audio.at, the only Austrian trade magazine for high-quality consumer electronics solutions, had the honour of welcoming outstanding musicians in cooperation with the Hotel Miramar Opatija.
This also applies to the second edition of this event, and for Blues on the Adriatic 2025 in June 2025, we are delighted to welcome Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore, Siggi Fassl and Hans Theessink as outstanding musicians to one of Croatia’s finest and multi-award-winning hotels.
The finest blues from Austria on three evenings at the Kvarner Bay
Four musicians, three unique concert evenings await the exclusive guests of Hotel Miramar, the Adria-Relax Resort in the south of Istria on the beautiful Kvarner Bay. Siggi Fassl will kick off the concert series on Thursday, 19 June 2025, followed by Hans Theessink on Friday, 20 June 2024, with Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore concluding Blues on the Adriatic 2025 on the evening of Saturday, 21 June 2025.
The charm of the Austro-Hungarian era with the demands of modern tourism today – Kvarner Bay
Abazzia was the name of the town at the southern end of Istria at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when it was a fashionable seaside resort and playground for the rich and beautiful of the time.
At that time, Abazzia was the exclusive spa resort of high society, because starting with the crowned heads from all over Europe, everything of rank and name met here, the place in Kvarner Bay was the place to be, to put it that way.
This unique charm from the imperial and royal era has not only been preserved, but is still cultivated with pride and passion in Opatija today. Hotels and palaces from the good old days have long since been restored to their former splendour and form the backdrop for a tourist offer that is up to date and leaves nothing to be desired.
The Hotel Miramar under the management of Andreas Madejski is a good example of how the flair of the monarchy can be combined with the most modern tourist offers.
Together with a highly committed team, he ensures that guests feel almost at home. It is therefore not surprising that countless regular guests have remained loyal to the hotel for many years and always come back.
In Juno, the mild climate of Kvarner Bay ensures relaxation, and this can begin with a walk along the Lungomare, the 12-kilometre-long promenade that gently meanders along the sea. Optaija is ideal for day trips, be it to Rovinj, Motovun, Pula or the smallest town in the world – Hum. Even Trieste in Italy is not too far away.
In the evening, you can savour the outstanding cuisine of Istria at the Hotel Miramar, rounded off with the finest wines of the region, and after that, yes after that, blues is on the agenda from Thursday to Friday.
Siggi Fassl
Siggi Fassl has been known to many blues lovers for years as a member of the Mojo Blues Band. But to reduce the musician to this alone would be fundamentally wrong. Not only is Siggi Fassl a welcome partner for some of Austria’s other blues greats, he has also been the band leader of Siggi Fassl & The Time Travellers for many years.
The musician is therefore not only committed to the blues, but is equally at home between the genres of western, swing, country, honkytonk and country boogie, resulting in a very special mixture for a unique concert experience.
This is exactly what guests at the Hotel MIramar can expect on the evening of 19 June 2025 when the singer and guitarist opens the Blues on the Adriatic 2025 festival.
Hans Theessink
Of course, it is true that Hans Theessink is actually Dutch, but having found his centre of life in Vienna many years ago, it is fair to call him one of Austria’s greatest blues musicians. However, Hans Theessink is obviously always tempted by new things; the artist with his unmistakable sonorous baritone and downright virtuoso guitar technique is constantly on the road somewhere, having played thousands of concerts over the years.
The fact that he has now been drawn to Kvarner Bay to perform on the second evening of the Blues on the Adriatic 2025 festival on Friday 20 June 2025 is sure to delight all guests at Hotel MIramar.
Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore
For the two musicians Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore, Blues on the Adriatic 2025 is a reunion, as they were already guests at the premiere in December 2023 at the Kvarner Bay and delighted the guests of the Hotel Miramar with their passionate performance.
On the evening of Saturday, 21 June 2025, Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore will once again create a rousing atmosphere with their songs, but there will also be moments when it will be absolutely silent and only the voice of Meena Cryle can be heard, which conveys such power and passion even in the quietest passages of a song that it is unique.
Hotel Miramar – The Adriatic Relax Resort in Opatija
As already mentioned, the Hotel Miramar is located directly on the Lungomare, offering a marvellous view of the Kvarner Bay with the islands of Krk and Cres. The Hotel Miramar combines modern 4-star luxury comfort with the charm of historical romance.
Under the management of hotel director Andreas Madejski, a highly dedicated staff looks after the well-being of the guests, who often describe the special flair created by this team as being away from home and yet at home.
Divided into four guest villas, the hotel offers exquisite rooms and suites with views of a Mediterranean garden landscape and the sea. The extensive spa and wellness programme is crowned by a private beach with easy access to the cool water, a heated indoor-outdoor seawater pool and a freshwater indoor pool, steam baths and saunas, as well as a wide range of treatments provided by the hotel’s own wellness team.
The excellent culinary offerings range from the extensive breakfast buffet to the outstanding gourmet cuisine at the multi-course dinner in the Panorama Restaurant. The best sommeliers in Croatia always offer guests the best wines of the region.
The facts – festival exclusively for hotel guests
Finally, one thing should be explicitly emphasised: the concert evenings at the Hotel Miramar as part of the sempre-audio.at Blues an der Adria 2025 festival are open exclusively to hotel guests, who alone can enjoy these three evenings in a unique atmosphere with the finest music performed right by the sea.
To emphasise the date once again, the concert evenings will take place between 19 and 21 June 2025.
