FiiO presents SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones
Anyone who grew up in the 1980s will immediately recognise which headphones were the inspiration for the latest solution from FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. of the SNOWSKY brand, the SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones, the model that shaped the lifestyle of those years when connected to a Sony WALKMAN.
- According to FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd, the new SNOWSKY Wind on-ear headphones feature a design reminiscent of the 1980s paired with the latest technical features.
With the SNOWSKY brand, the Chinese specialist for personal audio devices FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. is now launching a range of products clearly aimed at a predominantly young target group that prefers somewhat more colourful, sometimes also somewhat flashier solutions. This also applies to the new headphones that FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. is now presenting with the SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones.
Many may consider the design of these new headphones to be refreshingly different from many of today’s solutions, but all those who experienced the 1980s will inevitably realise immediately that a very special product served as a model here, namely the headphones that were a permanent companion to a Sony WALKMAN in the 1980s.
Classic design of the 1980s
Above all, it is the design variant of the new SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones, in which FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. uses ear pads in orange foam, which are inevitably reminiscent of the ubiquitous headphones of the 1980s.
Two pairs of ear pads for different sound characteristics
The company is offering the new headphones in silver, pink and black versions, with each pair of headphones coming with two pairs of said foam ear pads, one orange and one black, which are said to be characterised by slightly different sound characteristics.
Semi-open headphones
The new SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones are designed as semi-open on-ear headphones, which are very light at a weight of only around 50g. Rotatable driver suspensions and an easily adjustable, thin headband are designed to ensure wearing comfort.
Current features
At the heart of the SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones are dynamic drivers with a diameter of 40 mm, for which a special material is used, namely a so-called Japan PET Compound Diaphragm, and the voice coil is also of Japanese quality, i.e. a Japan CCAW Voice Coil, whereby this abbreviation stands for Copper Clad Aluminium Wire. In conjunction with N52 neodymium magnets, this should guarantee a particularly powerful drive for dynamic reproduction.
The impedance of the new SNOWSKY Wind on-ear headphones is said to be 32 ohms, with a sensitivity of 101 dB.
A remote control integrated into the cable enables playback control in accordance with the CTIA standard and there is also an integrated microphone, with the cable ending in a 3,5 mm stereo mini-jack.
Prices and availability
The new SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones should be available from specialist retailers these days, as described, in silver, black or pink. The price will be € 29,-. A matching carrying case is included in the scope of delivery.
Getting to the point
Of course, the new headphones that the specialist for personal audio devices FiiO Electronics Technology Co. Ltd. is now launching on the market as part of the newly founded SNOWSY brand with the SNOWSKY Wind On-ear Headphones are primarily designed for a young target group, but since they clearly reference a classic headphone model from the 1980s, which, when connected to a Sony WALKMAN, helped to establish the personal audio sector in the first place, many people who grew up in those years might also be swayed.
